About naturopathic medicine

Principles of Naturopathic Medicine

Naturopathic Medicine involves  a comprehensive, functional medicine approach to healthcare.

By working to determine the root cause of disease using in-depth intakes, compassionate listening, and advanced testing when indicated, Naturopathic Doctors aim to identify the biochemical and physiological imbalances within the individual, and use natural , scientifically-proven solutions in an aim to rectify these imbalances.

Naturopathic Medicine combines traditional wisdom and modern, evidence-based medicine in an effort to identify and remove obstacles to help you achieve better health.

Do No Harm

Naturopathic Doctors aim to use a combination of the safest and most effective treatment as necessary for each patient , through minimally invasive techniques.

The Healing Power of Nature

Naturopathic Doctors recognize the body’s inherent ability to heal itself , and aim to support the body by working to identify and remove obstacles to health.

Identify and Treat the Cause

Naturopathic Doctors aim to identify, address and remove the underlying root causes of disease and dysfunction.

Doctor as Teacher

Through education and support for their patients, NDs empower patients to take responsibility for their own health, and value the doctor-patient relationship this builds.

Treat the Whole Person

The body is an integrated whole being, each system is highly connected, and thus should be assessed and treated this way .

Naturopathic Doctors treat the patient, not the disease.

A naturopathic assessment addresses the nutritional status, lifestyle, family history, physical, mental, emotional, genetic, environmental and social factors in a person’s life.

Disease Prevention, Health promotion

Naturopathic Doctors promote a focus on overall health, wellness and disease prevention.
